The Rats
Hide & Seek Champions
These highly trained, intelligent, and agile creatures are the heart of these exciting dog sports, working tirelessly to challenge and entertain their canine counterparts.
Learn more about the rats who make these sports possible
Our rats are the unsung heroes of these sports. They are carefully selected and trained to ensure their comfort and safety while participating in events. Each rat is housed in a secure, well-ventilated tube in barn hunt and wooden quarry box in NASDA games, that keeps them safe while allowing dogs to detect their scent. The tubes and quarry boxes are specially designed to protect the rats from harm, ensuring they remain calm and stress-free throughout the event.
Training and Care:
Our rats are more than just participants—they are cherished members of our family. We prioritize their well-being through training and handling to ensure they enjoy their work. The rats are regularly rotated to prevent fatigue and ensure they remain healthy and happy. When not working, they live in spacious, enriching environments where they receive top-notch care, plenty of exercise, and social interaction with their fellow rats. It is not uncommon for rats to visit their veterinarian to help them through any illness or injury.
