About this class
Urban Locating is a NASDA (North American Sport Dog Association) sport where your dog locates a rat hidden in a quarry box in an "urban setting". This could be in a classroom, in a shopping complex or even in an office! Your dog works on leash, so your leash handling skills will be important!
Our rats are kept safe in the quarry box and are comfortable having your dogs search for them.
Each week you will need to bring a 15-20ft leash and reinforcement for your dog (food or toy rewards are allowed).
Dogs must be able to handle confinement in a crate inside a car or properly equipped vehicle between turns. As the weather gets warmer come prepared with water, fans and shade covers.
Schedule: Classes are 6 weeks (please see "Session Notes" for any preplanned skip weeks). We meet the same day and time each week for 1 hour.
Make Up Classes: There are no make ups for missed days for these classes.
Weather Related Schedule Changes: Please note that in the summer months, we may have to skip unexpectedly due to heat/smoke. Those classes will be added on to the end of your current series.
