Barn Hunt

$190, 6 weeks - 1 Hour Sessions each week

Is your dog obsessed with squirrels? Does he need an outlet for his pent-up energy?

Are you just looking for a fun and different activity to do with your dog?

If you answered yes to any of these, then Barn Hunt is for you!

This growing dog sport allows dogs to safely use their nose to search for and find rats hidden in a straw bale maze.

Rats are handled and hidden safely in specialized, bite-proof containers by your instructor. Dogs only have protected contact with our healthy, bred-for Barn Hunt, pet rats.

Our rats love working with the dogs and have been trained for this work since they were babies! They are beloved pets and very well cared for under strict Barn Hunt Association rules.

Learn about preparing for competition or just come and play for fun!

Dogs must be able to handle confinement in a crate inside a car or properly equipped vehicle between turns.  As the weather gets warmer come prepared with water, fans and shade covers.

Classes are 6 weeks (please see "Session Notes" for any skip weeks).  We meet the same day and time each week for 1 hour.

Please note that in the summer months, we may have to skip unexpectedly due to heat/smoke.

Proof of DHPP and Rabies are required.

Fenzi TEAM Work

$235, 6 weeks - 1 Hour Sessions

Are you interested in competing with your dog? With the Fenzi TEAM titling program, you can earn titles by video while working on your dog's foundation skills.  It's a great way to find those little holes in your training - and fix them before you ever enter a ring.  The skills covered are especially applicable to Rally, Obedience, and Freestyle, but there is something for you if you and your dog do Nose Work, Parkour, Agility, or even just tricks!  All sport dogs need to learn how to work in the face of distractions or when you don't have any food on you - two skills covered in this program, and useful for all dogs in real-world situations.  Learn more about the Fenzi TEAM program, including the skills for each level.

Not at all interested in competition?  There's still something for you in this class!  Teach your dog exciting new skills (like jumping, finding an object by smell, or stepping their rear feet around a bucket) while adding fun challenges to master known cues (have you ever tried telling your dog "sit" or "down" while you're marching in place?). Improve your training mechanics to become a better teacher for your dog, which in turn will help improve your relationship, teamwork, and communication with each other.  Train fancy precision behaviors in a way that's fun for both of you while learning a variety of tools and techniques to teach them - and other fun tricks too!

To get the most out of this class, dogs should have a basic understanding of sit, down, stay, and nose touch (to hand or other object). Repeat students welcome! Take this class again to keep working on your dog's skills and to learn new skills for higher TEAM levels!

Handlers will learn about dog body language and how to motivate their dogs, great tools for developing your relationship with your pet!  Dogs work one at a time so this is a great class for dogs that are not comfortable around other dogs.
