Please note: this is not an appropriate class for dogs that bark and lunge at other dogs. Aggressive dogs may be excused from class.

Proof of one DHPP vaccine given one week prior to the start of class and dog must have been in their home for a minimum of 10 days.   Vaccine records must be emailed to Martha@DodgersPaws.com

Classes are 6 weeks (please see "Session Notes" for any skip weeks).  We meet the same day and time each week for 1 hour.

Registering 2 dogs for the same class:  Please note that we highly suggest registering each dog for their own class time.  This will give them the opportunity to learn to be apart from each other, work independently and build a relationship with you.  We understand that not everyone's schedules allow for signing up for 2 different classes.  If you need to register 2 dogs for the same class, each dog must have their own dedicated adult handler attend class with them.  This will give you the ability to focus on what is being taught.

Children and Guests in class:  We also ask that you limit those who attend class to those who are actively participating in training and who can remain quiet during class.

Please note that in the summer months, we may have to skip unexpectedly due to heat/smoke.

Foundation Skills Level 3 is for graduates of our Foundation Skills Level 2 classes, focusing on advanced handling skills. This class is for those who want to continue their dog's education and to keep training fresh and fun!

You and your dog will be working on your teamwork, new challenges, polishing up what you have already learned, as well as learning new techniques and skills.

If you're unsure about if you and your dog are ready for Level 3 class, speak with your Level 2 instructor.  Some teams benefit greatly from taking the Level 2 class again to be with a new group of dogs and to keep building on the foundation level that you're both at.  There is nothing wrong with wanting to take the Level 2 class again vs taking the Level 3 class and being overwhelmed.

**Dogs must be dog and people friendly. This class is not appropriate for dogs that bark or lunge at other dogs**

Proof of DHPP & Rabies vaccines required.

There are no make ups for missed days for these classes.

Recall - Mini Class

$125, 3 weeks -60 min each week

Class size is limited to 4 Dogs

Who is this for?
This is for dogs and owners who are struggling to have a reliable recall due to a variety of potential reasons.  Lack of solid foundation in recall training?  Lack of reinforcement history in recall?

Who is this class not for?
This class is NOT suitable dogs who bark/lunge at people/dogs or chase cars/skateboards.

Prerequisites for the class:
Completion of our Level 2 class or with trainer recommendation.
Current on Vaccines or provide a recent titer.

You will want to pack your leash, your patience and your treats as you head to class each week!

About the Class:
Our main focus will be on developing a strong drive for coming back to you when called. Throughout the 3-week series, we will practice various skills and engaging activities that promote a quick and reliable response from your canine companion.

However, it's important to note that the mini class serves as a continuation of the foundation for building recall skills and does not guarantee absolute off-leash reliability after its completion. To ensure long-term success, we strongly recommend continuing the practice of these newly acquired skills in different environments around a variety of distractions.

The mini-class is thoughtfully designed to help you foster the drive and willingness in your dog to return promptly when called. We understand the significance of gradual progression, and that's why we suggest further training and practice beyond the series before attempting off-leash recall in challenging situations.

By being consistent in your training efforts and reinforcing the recall behavior in various contexts, you'll set the stage for a stronger and more dependable recall response from your beloved canine companion. We're excited to embark on this journey with you and your furry friend, setting the groundwork for a more harmonious and reliable relationship.

This mini class is limited to 4 dogs MAX per class and will meet for 3 consecutive weeks (unless otherwise noted in the "session notes").

Loose Leash Walking - Mini Class

$125, 3 weeks -60 min each week

Class size is limited to 4 Dogs

Who is this for?
This is for dogs and owners who are struggling to have relaxing walks together.  Either because they're dragging you to go say hi to someone or because they want to pick up random objects off the ground.

Who is this class not for?
This class is NOT suitable dogs who bark/lunge at people/dogs on walks or chase cars/skateboards.

Prerequisites for the class:
Completion of our Level 2 class or with trainer recommendation.
Current on Vaccines or provide a recent titer.

About this class:
In our loose leash walking mini-class, we'll focus on teaching you and your dog the skills necessary for walking politely on a leash. We understand that walking your dog should be an enjoyable and stress-free experience for both you and your furry companion. This class is designed to help you achieve just that!

Throughout the mini-class, we'll introduce effective techniques and exercises to encourage loose leash walking behavior. By using positive reinforcement and rewards, we'll motivate your dog to walk beside you without pulling or tugging on the leash.

Keep in mind that mastering loose leash walking takes time and practice. While this mini-class will continue to build on the foundation you have, for better leash manners, it's essential to continue reinforcing these skills in different environments and situations.

We'll cover various strategies to maintain your dog's attention during walks and to redirect any pulling behavior. Additionally, we'll address common challenges that may arise and provide you with practical solutions to overcome them.

Please remember that every dog is unique, and results may vary. Consistency and patience are key as you work with your dog to develop their loose leash walking skills.

By the end of this mini-class, you'll have a better understanding of how to communicate effectively with your dog during walks and build a stronger bond through positive reinforcement training. Together, we'll make walking a pleasurable experience, creating lasting memories and enjoyable strolls with your well-behaved and happy companion.

This mini class is limited to 4 dogs MAX per class and will meet for 3 consecutive weeks (unless otherwise noted in the "session notes").
